Know-how at work
The last mile logistic network is a partner in the regional LogistikRuhr initiative. Discussion of "What makes a strong location into a premium location?" resulted in early 2009 in logistics personalities, companies and partners from the region uniting to form a single network.

The last mile logistic network has been appearing jointly with the Duisburg and Dortmund logistics locations at trade fairs and congresses since early 2006, with the aim of achieving a higher profile for the Ruhr as a location, and for its logistics potentials, in particular. Competition between the locations to attract logistics enterprises, as well as for specialist and managerial staff and, not least of all, to achieve a positive logistics image, quickly led to recognition that only a unified presence could enhance outside perception of the region's logistics potentials.

What does LogistikRuhr do?
The network's essential task is that of establishing an effective joint location-marketing organization, in order to raise awareness of the Ruhr as a logistics region and emphasize its significance. A joint presence at trade fairs and congresses is an important element in achieving this aim. In addition, LogistikRuhr is also intended to promote and accelerate the interchange of innovation between enterprise and research. Activities within the network are guided by the LogistikRunde Ruhr team, which meets at regular intervals.

The LogistikRuhr network is sponsored by the main logistics entrepreneurs and companies in the Ruhr region and represents the entire region's logistics capabilities. It groups together, for the first time ever, existing sub-regional initiatives and networks, and concentrates the region's know-how.
